According to a study by HubSpot, 90% of customers report that product videos help them make purchasing decisions. That makes perfect sense, of course, since most people are either highly visual or don't want to read lengthy descriptions. And with some items, you really want to see, how they are used or even how big they are.

For publishers, videos also offer an additional source of income, depending on the technology they use. The Boss video player for websites, for example, makes it easy to include affiliate links based on time codes. It also gives more of an upscale impression than an embedded YouTube video. Especially for luxury brands, or anyone who is marketing and selling luxury products, a custom player is pretty much a must-have these days.

And it's not just products that benefit from videos, it's services as well. Videos are perfect to include customer testimonials on services pages. This can work for a wide variety of services, such as plumbers, car mechanics, lawn services, real estate agents, web designers, massage therapists, and many more. For some, a YouTube or Vimeo video might work, but if someone is selling million dollar homes, a custom player should be considered.
