Luck - does such a thing exist?
Luck, the random version, is defined as "success or failure apparently brought by chance rather than through one's own actions."
The random luck could be winning with a lottery. Even though it is also based partly on one's own actions - you bought the ticket, right? Without the ticket, you would have had no chance of winning whatsoever. So while the fact that you won was lucky, but you gave yourself the chance by buying the ticket. Compared to those who didn't, you now have a better chance of luck.
This kind of random luck I don't really have. The other kind of luck has been out into good words by the American essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson, who said that "Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect." This kind of "luck" is based on more than just buying a lottery ticket. Your luck today is based on your doings yesterday and the day before. Your brought the luck upon you yourself. This kind of luck is based on logics.
So the next time you think that you are unlucky, think if maybe there's a reason for that. Maybe you didn't do anything yesterday to cause luck today. And if you didn't, maybe you can do something today to force yourself to be lucky tomorrow?
