If you want your business to succeed, you don't necessarily need it, but it's highly suggested that you get a formal education in the field you're interested in. If you want to have your own business, you should actually get educated in at least two different things - business in general and the area of life your business deals with.

For help with the first part, you might want to check out Ashford University and their college of Business and Professional Studies. They offer Bachelor's degrees in anything from accounting to eMarketing, from business economics to project management, from business leadership to sustainable enterprise management. For more information about it, go to http://ashford.edu/degrees.htm, click "College of Business and Professional Studies" (online or campus version, whichever you're interested in) and learn more what they have to offer you.

Achievement Belongs to All of Us

Once you've decided what part of general business side you should be concentrating on, it's time to go on and study the field your future business will be in. Be it restaurant, real estate, marketing or construction. Whatever's your choice, before going into business for real, for maximum chance of success, start by studying about it, get a degree in it. By the end of the studies, you might want to reconsider your choices at all, it happens. But at least you'll have some great knowledge about business as well as the other topic you chose. Plus you have the experience of studying. And no, high school ain't that. It ain't enough. And Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, they aren't the rule. They are the exceptions. So stop thinking about them so much.
